Brisbane At Dusk (Sunset Sessions)

Photographing the beautiful colours seen during sunset is a very rewarding way to practice and perfect your landscape photography. Brisbane enjoys good sunsets most days and practice makes perfect.

“Kangaroo Point at Dusk” by Kane Gledhill

Photography is all about light, and the best quality light is captured an hour before, during and up to an hour after the sun has set. We structure our workshops around these conditions. So start and finish times will vary from season to season.

Let us help you capture and correctly photograph this amazing event.

What this course covers

  • Basic composition (what to look for).
  • Understanding light and shadows.
  • Using filters.

What we do

Anyone can shoot a sunset, any day of the week – in fact photographing a sunset is one of the most commonly photographed subjects.

We will provide you with a checklist which helps you decide on what to look for when shooting a sunset. We offer professional techniques which will improve your photography. While you are shooting, our experience instructors are on hand to help you with your questions. We will suggest subjects and help with compositions.

Sunset Locations and Venues

Brisbane is blessed with many great Sunset locations, all within 30 minutes drive from the CBD. We host our Brisbane At Dusk workshops in three key locations. Each location offers our students something different, from seascapes to cityscape, something for everyone! (talk to us about custom workshops)

  • Wellington Point Reserve (sea, ocean, sand)
  • Kangaroo Point Cliffs (city and river)
  • Wilsons Lookout (city and the Storey Bridge)

Sessions

Our July sessions are held at Kangaroo Point from 3:30pm.

Student to Instructor Ratio

We want to make sure you get the most out of our workshops, so we are committed to keeping our classes sizes to no more than six (6) students. This means we can spend more time with you one on one. There are times when we will give group instructions and times when we work one on one (or small groups)

Feedback

We are photographers, just like you, and your feedback is always valued. Feedback helps us provide a better workshop.

Testimonial

Thanks for your help on the course. The introduction to the “blue hour” was very insightful given I had zero know how about taking photos at that hour of day. But what I really got out of it was observing just how much more you were “seeing” in the landscape that I’ve been missing while fiddling with my camera dials, balancing precariously on rocks, wiping the last wave off my filter or just not really looking :-)
