• Seeing in the dark.
• Understanding light and shadows.
• Using filters.
• A follow up session over breakfast (we critique your photos for you)

What we do

Anyone can wake up early and shoot a sunrise, any day of the week – in fact most professional landscape photographers prefer the dawn light – so we will show you what you need to know.

We will provide you with a checklist which helps you decide on what to look for when shooting Dawn. We offer professional techniques which will improve your photography. While you are shooting, our experienced instructors are on hand to help you with your questions. We will suggest subjects and help with compositions. Because it will be dark for most of the workshop, tuition is more ‘hands on’, so expect tips and advice while you are shooting.

After the workshop, we meet for breakfast to share our ideas; we will help critique your images.

Brisbane is blessed with many great sunrise locations. We host our Dawn workshops in various locations. Each location offers our students something different, from seascapes to cityscape, something for everyone! (talk to us about custom workshops). Locations include:

• Wellington Point Reserve (sea, ocean, sand)
• Wild Horse Mountain

The weather held out and we all came away with some excellent images.

Looking forward to next year – who knows what the show will be about now that the RAAF F1-11′s are retired.

Photography is all about light, and the best quality light is captured an hour before, during and up to an hour after the sun has set. We structure our workshops around these conditions. So start and finish times will vary from season to season.

What we do

Anyone can shoot a sunset, any day of the week – in fact photographing a sunset is one of the most commonly photographed subjects.

We will provide you with a checklist which helps you decide on what to look for when shooting a sunset. We offer professional techniques which will improve your photography. While you are shooting, our experienced instructors are on hand to help you with your questions. We will suggest subjects and help with compositions.

Sunset Locations and Venues

Brisbane is blessed with many great Sunset locations, all within 30 minutes drive from the CBD. We host our Brisbane At Dusk workshops in three key locations. Each location offers our students something different, from seascapes to cityscape, something for everyone! (talk to us about custom workshops)

• Wellington Point Reserve (sea, ocean, sand)
• Kangaroo Point Cliffs (city and river)
• Wilsons Lookout (city and the Storey Bridge)

Sessions

Locations for this photography workshop include Woody Point and Kangaroo Point.

Student to Instructor Ratio

We want to make sure you get the most out of our workshops, so we are committed to keeping our classes sizes to no more than six (6) students. This means we can spend more time with you one on one. There are times when we will give group instructions and times when we work one on one (or small groups)

We are photographers, just like you, and your feedback is always valued. Feedback helps us provide a better workshop.

Photography is currently more popular than ever, professional equipment has become so much cheaper and more accessible, its not uncommon to see new parents with a semi-pro digital SLR. All cameras can take great photos, that’s never changed. What we can do is help you get the most out of your new hobby.

Children grow up fast, and its important to capture those precious moments – let us teach you some simple tricks that you can use at home while photographing your family.

A little knowledge goes a long way. Who knows – you may discover that you really enjoy taking photographs. One thing may lead to the next and before you know it you’ll be taking your children to the beach and wanting to shoot the sunset – we can help with that too.

What we cover

• Basic camera settings and handling techniques for portrait photography.
• Getting your subject to stand out (using DOF).
• Capturing that smile, always being ready.
• Simple tips you can use at home.

This workshop is aimed at parents and caregivers, and covers very basic skills. We also offer a more advanced portrait workshop, contact us for more details.

The skills you learn can be applied at home, the beach etc.

Remember: Photography is about people, and expression is everything.
